Personality, an important area of research in health psychology, has been shown to influence health and longevity. For example, people who are overly anxious are more likely to suffer from allergies and ulcers, neurotic people are more likely to suffer from heart disease, and melancholic people are more likely to suffer from cancer.

Schups is a board game that looks at the effects of personality traits on people’s health and longevity. In this game, players take on the roles of Schutz or Schnitt and together determine the course of the life of one of the 6 main characters in a fictional story. Both pursue different goals: Schutz tries to lead the main character to a healthy and long life by making positive decisions, while Schnitt tries to prevent this by making negative decisions. The decisions players make in the game must be based on the personality traits of the main characters. Through this concept, players can better experience how personality traits influence health and longevity through three main factors as the game progresses: Health behaviors, social relationships, and trauma or stress.

Schups uses a combination of card-playing and sliding mechanisms to add confrontation and fun to the game. The board game has a modular hexagonal shape that can be assembled infinitely, providing a variety of options for games with multiple players. In addition, the entire board game uses gender-neutral expressions.
